Hey BU!!!

And thus, my term as an SDU ambassador is over! I just want to give you all one last piece of advice before we part ways: Summer Essentials. I know you see these everywhere but I picked some cool items for you to take a look at as you salute the summer!

Twill Trailer Tie Shirt: $80

-This is perfect for the summer. It’s super country and awesome for all those warm sunny days you’re gonna spend at the beach or window-shopping with your friends.

Logo Bikini: $70

-Definitely gonna need a bathing suit. I’m partial to anything pink - it brings out your tan in such a wonderful way.

Eagles Pocket T-Shirt: $46

-This item is awesome for your days off of work and your internship! Wear this to a barbecue or to lounge on your rooftop.

Racer Maxi: $80

-Maxis are all the rage right now. This one is also perfect for shopping or a low-key dinner date.

Garden Party Mini Skirt: $80

-Wear this skirt for a barbecue as well or for a sunny day at the beach! It’s also perfect for a day at the park with a book.

Vest Dress: $32

-Let me tell you, ladies. I got this last week and it’s amazing. You can wear it so many different ways. You can wear it as a dress, a tank top, OR, you can even wear it as a dress tucked in to a skirt or shorts. This is definitely a transitional item so you can wear it anywhere for anything!

Nail Paint: $12

-Last, but not least, I am loving the mint green trend for this summer. Definitely pick up a bottle of nail paint in Jade!

That’s it, fellow Fashionistas. It’s been a whirlwind of a semester but I’ve loved everything about it! You guys have been awesome!! Thanks for everything, Superdry!!

-xoxo Maya

P.S. If you guys are in New York, stop by our Broadway location - I’m working as a Stylist for the summer!! :)

It has been an absolutely amazing semester at Superdry University. Not only did I get the opportunity to promote (and wear) a great clothing line, but I also was lucky enough to be in the inaugural class of Superdry campus ambassadors.

As a student looking to have a career as a health professional, I was a little reluctant to apply for SDU. I thought I would be out of touch with the worlds of marketing and advertising, and that I would be left in the dust by the fasionistas, bloggers, and communications majors that compose most of the SDU class.

However, I quickly found that you don’t need to be any of things to succeed as a brand representative. It’s less about clothing and more about communication, less about style and more about socialization. Even if I didn’t like Superdry (I obviously do), I would still be able to promote the brand… the personality is more important than the product.

I’m also a bigger fan of social media after SDU. We live in a world where information is instantaneous and ubiquitous… even if you’re physically alone, the world is a phone call, text, or click away. The skills I gained while working as an ambassador are transferrable - I can now navigate the twittersphere and I truly enjoy writing tumblr posts.

Finally, my personal philosophy was solidified by the program. I’m a firm believer in the free will of every human. As long as you aren’t harming anybody else, why should I care how you spend your time? Before Superdry I had a somewhat negative view of stylish people in general. I found it indulgent, but honestly, who am I to judge? People are just living how they want to, I’ll continue to live like I want.

So this farewell post turned out a lot more personal than I intended, but oh well. It’s another chapter of my life completed !!! Onto the next one (studying for the MCAT… not nearly as fun) !

I want to say thanks to my PIC (Partner In Crime, I’ve always wanted to say that), Maya Jiménez, my fellow SDUers, especially Sarah Bedo and Huy Lu from USC, and the Superdry/Strategic Group team - Ashley Parker, Lindsay Eshelman, and Emily Painter.

Stay Superdry my friends.

Dr. Beach just released their list of America’s Best Beaches for 2012, and Coast Guard Beach in Cape Cod, Massachusetts (south of Boston) is appropriately number 6 on the list. Taken from the Dr. Beach website:

The picturesque old Coast Guard station still sits atop the glacial bluffs, allowing for a spectacular view down upon the Nauset Spit barrier system and bay.

To celebrate making the list (and for finishing finals… WOOOO!), I’v put together a Cape Cod Casual outfit for Memorial Day beach-goers. Behold:

Top: Classic Pique Polo

Bottom: Commodity Chino Shorts

Belt: Yard Belt

Footwear: Riva Suede Boat Shoe

To carry everything else: Weekender Bag

There you have it… the only thing missing is the 100 foot yacht… Superyacht? Happy Memorial Day from SDU BU.

Hey BU!

Check out the wonderful Meghan Dhaliwal sporting an awesome Superdry tee and flip fops!! Meghan is a senior in the College of Communication majoring in Photojournalism and she’s the best!! She’s been in a couple of my classes and is a wonderful photographer as well as a smart, and driven student. It has been my pleasure getting to know her better this semester and I’m sure she’ll have an amazing life after college! Congrats, Meg!

Meghan is wearing the Thunderbolt T-Shirt and a pair of GT Flip Flops.

Dear BU Class of 2012,

Thank you. Thank you for everything. You helped me so much through my freshman year here at Boston University and you’ve been there for me ever since. And now here we are. And you’re ready to start a new chapter in your life. And here I am… watching you leave me. I have such abandonment issues. But I digress. The real reason for this letter is because I feel like it’s my turn to give you some advice.

As I’m sure you know, it’s gonna be HOT this weekend. So, as you prepare for commencement weekend, I have some tips for outfits!!

First off, I bet you and your friends have planned graduation parties left and right. For more casual settings, consider wearing the Tube Mini Dress. It’s short and tight - perfect to feel sassy in for a night out with your friends to celebrate the end of your college career!

If you’re planning a day party - which you definitely should considering it’s so nice out - try the Vest Dress. Try it in Beetroom/Cream to show off your school spirit. It’s way more casual and can be paired up perfectly with the Super Series Lo Top or the GT Flip Flops in Rich Red/Winter, depending on how casual you wanna be.

Now, for commencement day, think about wearing the Spring Mini Dress. It’s not too dressy and not too casual. Some would say it’s just perfect!! And it’s simply adorable to wear on your special day.

Don’t forget your Cateye Sunglasses to protect from those UV rays!

Hopefully these tips help you out when choosing what to wear, girls! I love you and I’ll miss you!

xoxo, Maya

Breezy Boston Superdry Summer.

New-in online

-Jer

Summertime !!! Finals are over and the weather is slowly but surely making the transition from cold and rainy to warm and sunshiny (I don’t care if that isn’t a word). Although BU may be done for the summer, Superdry University still has a couple weeks to go ! It’s tough being enrolled at two universities at one time, but we make it work…

Here’s what I should be wearing for these last few weeks of SDU:

Square Sunglasses

Panel Boardshorts

GT Flip Flops

…that is all. No need for formality - Superdry U is all about comfort and style. Happy summer !

Superdry University Study Guide:

Finals week is here (for BU anyway) and since my mind is 99% in study mode, I put together this study guide of style for the caffeine kings and night owls. BTW, the photos above were taken at Boston University’s very own Mugar Library, or what I like to call Club Mugar - because that place is raging right now !

Commodity Harrington (top left): the walk to the library every day to study is.. hmm.. well, a little upsetting to be completely honest, especially when the only thing you’re looking forward to is two physics practice exams. So, I recommend this jacket as a “comfort coat” to counteract these negative thoughts and prepare you for your study session. It’s the small things, right?

Avionic Sunglasses (top right): Why would you need sunglasses inside a library (other than to look like a boss while studying)? Well, when the effects of your second Red Bull wear off, you’ll want a couple minutes of shuteye (naps help memory). You don’t want people to think you’d stoop to sleeping in the group study room, so these shades will give the impression that you’re actually deep in thought. Bonus points if you have Plato’s Republic or The Tibetan Book of the Dead open in front of you.

Superdry GT Flip Flop (bottom left): When the clock strikes 4 am and that surprisingly energetic library attendant announces the end of book circulation for the night, these flippie floppies will come in handy. Why? Because when the quest to your warm cozy bed is finally complete, you can swiftly kick these bad boys off and hop right in !

Commodity Chino Shorts (bottom right): After you’re done with all five of your finals (that all seem to be scheduled conveniently right after each other), you’ll be reintroduced to the natural wonder that is the sun. The aviators will get more utility here, as will these shorts. They are the perfect mix of Cape Cod Casual and Working-Man Wear (yep I just made that up on the spot). Now you can feel the warmth of the sun ambassadors coming straight at you in ray form…. yesssss. Don’t bask too long - summer classes start next week…

All of this swag was taken from the Superdry Men’s What’s Hot page, and all of these words were taken from the mind of a sleep-deprived Jeremy.

-Jer

Here Comes the Superdry:

To add insult to injury (of finals week), the gods of weather have decided to continuously rain on our studying parade. A little music is helping me get through the week and remind me what I’m looking forward to… summer !
